Hot Sheet is excited to present, 'Thres{hold}' in collaboration with BLOKspace in Leyton. Bringing together a group artists (Amber Toplisek , Amber Baverstock, Hanna Fastrich , Laaraa , Tom Faber , Yuxi Zhong ) working across a variety of mediums, with a performance of ‘Archipelago’ by Daniel Rey (January 2025).
The exhibition is centered around the theme structure, with each artist exploring the boundaries of space both physically and metaphorically. Through sculpture, installation, and digital art, these artists will investigate how —visible and invisible—shape the environments we navigate. Just as people in a gym confront physical boundaries and thresholds, the artists in this show explore the idea of pushing against limitations—whether spatial, personal, or digital—inviting visitors to engage with their own experiences of structure.
The exhibition aims to challenge traditional concepts of space and thresholds, encouraging viewers to reconsider the boundaries that define their surroundings. With BLOKspace’s architectural design as a dynamic backdrop, the works will create a dialogue between the physical and digital worlds, reflecting the contemporary interplay between these realms. This unique setting will allow visitors to engage with both the artwork and the space in new and unexpected ways.
At its core, the exhibition invites reflection on how structure pervades everyday life, from the buildings and routines that define our days to the less obvious systems that shape our thoughts and actions.
