Isabel Bonafe

Spanish, lives and works in London, UK. With a practice that spans sculpture, installation, photography, and contemporary technology, Isabel Bonafé uses art to relate the way we consume, perceive and live with virtual images and some physical phenomena that question our common sense and the ordinary experience. 

She received her BA in Fine art from Seville University in 2015 and her MFA from Central Saint Martis (UAL) in (2019). Shortlisted for the Ivan Juritz Prize, UAL Bursary for residency at the Banff Center for Arts and Creativity, INICIARTE Grant and winner of the Photography Prize at Foundation Valentín de Madariaga. Isabel has exhibited national and internationally, including Univers d’imatges at L’ETNO Museum, Valencia together with Jose M. Bellido; Resonance touches together with Lara Geary at The Koppel Project Hive Gallery, London; and solo show touch and be touched at The New Artist Online Gallery. Some recent group shows; Isolation Mastered, JD Malat Gallery, London, Inund’art Festival, Casa de Cultura, Girona; KP Showcase, The Exchange Gallery, London; II Young Emerging Artists, Fundación Valentín de Madariaga, Seville; User Preferences Pavilion at The Wrong Biennale; Humachine FLUX, Ovada Gallery, Oxford; Digital Edge, Somerset House, London, and Entangled, A Critical Rehearsal, in collaboration with Flavia Tritto, Lara Geary, Lorna Macritchie and M. Lohrum, Lethaby Gallery, London. Isabel has also given talks in Digital Culture Festival CSM and Digital Edge, Somerset House, London. Her work has been published in WomenCineMakers Magazine and Le Rythme 7th edition of Opium Philosophie Magazine.
