Joseph Horton

Joseph is a photographic artist working between London and Bristol and is currently undertaking his MA in photography at the University of the West of England. His practice is concerned with social and environmental roles, focusing primarily on our sense of place and how we affect and are effected by the environments we inhabit. Taking on the documentary style, his works play with the narrative imbedded within imagery, causing the viewer to question the authority of the photograph and its willing non-fictional position. By creating questions around the factual role of the image he is able to bring an ambiguity to the work which implies the unfamiliar in the familiar.
